Incident at 11800 South Main Street
November 25, 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating the findings of human skeletal remains
at 11800 South Main Street on November 24, 2006 at 9:30 a.m.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Scott and Officer
T. Tyler reported:
The remains were found in a large overgrown and
undeveloped field adjacent to the 11800 block of South Main Street.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a person
using a metal detector came across the skeletal remains on the
23rd of November but did not call the police until the next morning.
Forensic anthropologists with the Harris County Medical Examiner's
office handled the recovery of the remains. They estimated that
the remains had been at the location for over a year.
Any further investigation is pending the examination
and findings of the Medical Examiner's office.
