Traffic Incident at 3800 Highway 6 North

November 24, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 3800 block of State Highway 6 North about 2:05 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 23).

Two persons died and three others were injured in the two-car accident. Identities are being withheld pending notification to family members.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officers J. Calvillo and J. Larson reported:

Witnesses reported the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro was weaving in and out of traffic as he traveled south on Highway 6. The driver lost control of the vehicle and slid into the northbound lanes, striking a Chevrolet van head-on. Both persons inside the Camaro died instantly. The driver of the van and two passengers, ages 5 and 1, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
