Update on Incident at 6514 Whitton

November 17, 2006 -- Houston police homicide investigators have arrested and charged three suspects and are seeking the public's assistance in locating two others in the fatal shooting of a man at 6514 Whitton about 4:30 a.m. September 23, 2006.

The victim, identified as Eduardo Quinones, 18, of 6611 Whitton suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.

Arnoldo Ramos (H/m, DOB: 5-19-79), Roberto Lopez (H/m, DOB: 8-24-86) and Ricardo Ruiz (H/m, DOB: 8-1-85) were arrested and charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. They are also charged with two counts of aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

HPD is still looking for Amado Castillo (H/m, DOB: 9-13-84) and Jesus Ramos (H/m, DOB: 4-13-86) who are charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Officer T.J. McCorvey reported:

Investigators learned Quinones and a female companion were driving to a store when they passed a large group of Hispanic males standing in front of 6514 Whitton. The female driver hesitated because she saw the males (suspects) armed with guns. Quinones told her it would be okay to pass in front of them because he knew them. As Quinones and the female drove past them, the male suspects opened fire on the vehicle and Quinones was shot in the head.

A subsequent investigation identified five suspects in the murder.
