Update on Incident at 1919 Runnels
November 11, 2006 -- Charges
have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing
of a man at 1919 Runnels about 3:10 p.m. on Friday (Nov.10).
The victim is identified as Lionel Johnson 31,
of 1919 Runnels #211. He sustained a stab wound on the chest and
was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later died.
The suspect, Schwanda Mosley (b/f, DOB: 2-8-75),
was the common-law-wife of Mr. Johnson. She is charged with murder
in the 232nd State District Court.
Homicide Division Sergeant M.D. Newcomb and Officer
T. Huynh reported:
Mr. Johnson was having an argument with Mosley
over money, in apartment #211 of the Clayton Homes Housing Complex
at 1919 Runnels. According to witnesses, the dispute moved to
the southwest corner of the property where Mosley stabbed Johnson
once in the chest. Both (Mosley and Johnson) are Hurricane Katrina
evacuees.
