Traffic Incident at 4106 Mowery
March 20, 2006 -- Charges are
pending against a suspect arrested in the shooting death of a
man at 4106 Mowery about 9:30 p.m. on March 16.
The suspect, Kelvin Jaquay Morgan (b/m, DOB 11-15-78),
is being charged with murder in the killing of Terrance Spellman,
54, of 4100 South Acres. Spellman was shot in the abdomen and
died at Memorial Hermann Hospital the next morning.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson
and Officer D.L. Robertson reported:
Morgan walked into a home at 4106 Mowery without
permission and began asking several persons about the whereabouts
of his dog. Morgan got into a struggle with one of those inside
the home (a witness) and that witness began hollering for someone
to call the police. Morgan ran out the front door and into the
front yard, with the witness following him. At that time, Morgan
pulled a pistol from the front of his shirt and began shooting
at the witness. One of the bullets struck Mr. Spellman as he stood
on the front porch.
As charges are being filed against him, Morgan
is in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges.
