Traffic Incident at 9600 North Freeway
March 5, 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating a fatal accident at 9600 North Freeway
(northbound) on March 5, 2006 at 2:40 a.m.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant
G. T. Hall and Officer S. Martinez reported:
A vehicle was traveling northbound on the North
Freeway being followed by police. The vehicle turned off its lights
and fled from police at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was
well ahead of the officer when it left the roadway and struck
a pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger
was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries.
