June 19, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of three others at 12460 Hempstead Highway about 1:45 p.m. on Sunday (June 18).

The suspect, Fidel Angel Martinez (H/M, DOB 3-8-47), was last seen leaving the location in a four-door gray Hyundai Elantra with Texas license plates 468-GDY.

The deceased victim, Jesus Alfredo Moctezuma, 30, was shot in the upper chest. HFD paramedics transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Of the three wounded victims, Jose Santos Luna, 38, was shot in his left arm. Jose Hector Luna Martinez, 22, was shot in the lower abdomen, while Mario Avalos Briones, 45, was shot in his right arm. These victims were transported to Ben Taub General and Memorial Hermann Hospitals for treatment.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.T. Mosqueda and Officer L. Benavidez reported:

The suspect was arguing with his wife at their residence when he threatened to kill her and himself with a gun. The wife, with their 10-year-old daughter, ran from the residence to a neighbor's house. The suspect arrived a few moments later and confronted the neighbors and threatened them. He then returned to his residence. While the suspect was gone, his wife and daughter then left that neighbor's house and hid at a different neighbor's house. The suspect returned to the first neighbor's house and threatened to kill the victims if they didn't tell him where his wife was hiding. After the victims explained to the suspect that they did not know where his wife and child had gone, suspect Martinez walked Mr. Moctezuma to the front of trailer #8, where he shot Moctezuma in the chest. The suspect walked back to where the other victims were and started shooting at them, striking each of them. The suspect then left the location in a gray Hyundai Elantra.
