Houston Police Department Homicide Division investigators
report:
At approximately 10:45 PM on June 13, 2006, these
suspects were on a robbery spree when they decided to rob a husband
and wife who, along with their four children, had stopped to use
a pay phone at a car wash. Suspect Renfro knowingly drove Holland
and Holmes to commit this robbery and acted as the getaway driver.
Holland and Holmes approached the couple, Luis Garcia and Maricella
Vargas, produced a gun and demanded money. The parents advised
Holland and Holmes that they did not have any money. At this point,
Holland and Holmes began to pull the children from their Chevrolet
Suburban vehicle. Holland then jumped into the driver's seat and
Holmes jumped into the passenger seat. Holland then sped out of
the parking lot, running over two-year-old Stephanie Garcia. Stephanie
sustained massive head trauma and was transported to LBJ Hospital
where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators also believe Holland, Holmes, and
Renfro committed other robberies on the night of June 13, 2006.
Anyone with information regarding this incident or other robberies
committed by this trio is urged to call the Houston Police Homicide
Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
