Incident at 7546 Carothers

June 16, 2006 -- The fatal shooting of a juvenile at 7546 Carothers about 11:40 p.m. on Thursday (June 15) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The victim has been identified as Manuel J. Roy Jr., 16, of 7546 Carothers. He suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. R. Cunningham and E. Carstens reported:

Officers received a shooting call and found Manuel Roy, Jr. deceased from a gunshot wound. The father of the victim stated he shot his son after a physical confrontation. He said his son had assaulted him prior to the shooting.
