Traffic Incident at 4400 Southwest Freeway
June 9, 2006 -- One person dies
in a two-car collision that occurred in the 4400 lock of the Southwest
Freeway on Friday, June 9, 2006 at 2:10 a.m.
Houston Police Department Mobility Incident Management
Division Officer Y. Wood reported that a late model pickup truck
was traveling southbound on the northbound lanes of the Southwest
Freeway. The truck collided head-on with a Dodge Neon killing
the driver instantly. The driver of the pick-up, believed to be
intoxicated, was treated and released from Ben Taub General Hospital.
That driver faces intoxication manslaughter charged
pending the outcome of blood test. A passenger in the pick-up
truck was not injured.
