Update on Incident at 2303 West Sam Houston Parkway

Department Homicide Division investigators release a surveillance
photo of the suspect who fatally shot a man at 2303 West Sam
Houston Parkway North about 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday (July 5).
The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet
5 to 5 feet 7 inches tall, 170 to 180 pounds and wearing a black
T-shirt, black pants and a black ball cap.
The victim has been identified as Anand Sharma,
46, of 10350 Lands End #1905.He suffered a gunshot wound to the
head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he
was pronounced dead.

and J. Selvera reported:
The victim was a nightshift employee at a convenience
store. During the victim's shift, a suspect walked into the store
and waited for the other customers to leave. Once the store was
empty, the suspect pulled out a pistol and demanded money. The
victim complied with the request, however when the suspect diverted
his attention, the victim attempted to stop the suspect. A struggle
ensued and the victim was shot in the head. The suspect left the
store and fled northbound through the parking lot.
