Incident at 5642 Market #6
January 14, 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating the near fatal shooting of a man at 5642
Market #6 about 2:15 a.m. today (Jan. 14).
The wounded victim has been identified as Charles
Deon Frear, 28, of 2000 Tidwell #627. He suffered a gunshot wound
to the head and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in
very critical condition. He is not expected to survive.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.W. McStravick
and Officer I.F. Flores reported:
An unknown black male suspect shot Mr. Frear
while committing an aggravated robbery. According to witnesses,
the suspects, possibly acquaintances of the victim's family, went
to the apartment to visit the occupants. While in the process
of leaving, the male suspect forced his way inside the residence
and began robbing the family. During the robbery, the male suspect
produced a handgun and shot Mr. Frear.
The suspects are only described as a black male
and a black female. They both fled the scene on foot.
