January 4, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4137 Dover #24 on Monday, January 2, 2006 about 10:30 p.m.

The victim is identified as Shawn Johnson, 30, of 4137 Dover #24. He suffered several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers S. Straughter and T. Hufstedler reported:

Witnesses heard several gunshots coming from Mr. Johnson's apartment on the night of January 2. At the time, witnesses made no effort to call the police. The next day, various friends and family members called Mr. Johnson's apartment several times looking for him but received no answer. Later that afternoon, one of Johnson's friends and the apartment manager discovered his deceased body in the apartment and called the police. There are no known suspect(s) at this time and preliminary investigation shows the motive may be drug related.
