Incident at 5601 Southwest Freeway
January 3, 2006 -- The Houston
Police Department, Homicide Division, is investigating a murder
that occurred on January 3, 2006 at approximately 1:50 a.m. at
5601 Southwest Freeway Service Road.
Homicide Division investigators T. R. Cunningham
and L. A. Flores reported:
Patrol officers responded to a reported drive-by
shooting at the Mobil Gas Station, 5601 Southwest Freeway Service
Road at Chimney Rock. Officers determined the actual shooting
occurred in the intersection of Fountainview at the Southwest
Freeway Service Road and the victims stopped at the Mobil Station
to call for help.
Two unknown black males, occupying a dark blue,
1986-1989 Chevrolet Caprice with a primer-colored front fender
on the driver's side, reportedly opened fire on two male occupants
of a black Toyota Camry. The passenger of the Camry, Keith Jerome
James (B/M 27, 9767 Pagewood #614, Houston, Texas) sustained four
gunshot wounds to the head and died at the scene.
The suspects in the Chevrolet Caprice fled the
scene and remain at large.
