Traffic Incident at Old Galveston Rd. and El Dorado Blvd.

February 28, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Old Galveston Rd. and El Dorado Blvd. about 11:45 a.m. today (Feb. 28).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending notification to family members.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant L.A. Washington and Officers R. Newton, M. Potell and R. Saenz reported:

The driver of a pickup truck was struck by a Federal Express delivery truck at the intersection of Old Galveston Rd. at El Dorado Blvd. The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, investigators are unable to determine who ran the red light.

The investigation is continuing.
