Update on Incident at 5709 Lyons

February 20, 2006 -- Houston police have arrested and charged a 34-year-old man in the murder of Anthony Jackson at 5709 Lyons on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at about 1:05 a.m.

Gary Don Bacon (bm/ DOB 5-12-71) was taken into custody on Sunday, February 12, 2006 and charged in the 177th State District Court.

Anthony Jackson and his girlfriend drove to a gas station at 5709 Lyons to get gas. Jackson was returning to his vehicle when Bacon approached him. According to the girlfriend, Bacon and Jackson had a brief conversation before she heard a gunshot. She told investigators that she saw Jackson fall to the ground and waited for him to get up. She got out of the vehicle and saw Jackson bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Anthony Jackson was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
