Update on Incident at 5135 North Freeway
February 6, 2006 -- Houston
Police have released a composite
sketch of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man
at 5135 North Freeway #63 on Tuesday, December 27, 2006 about
6:50 a.m.
The suspect is described as a black male in his
late twenties to early thirties. He is between six feet one inch
to six feet two inches tall with a skinny build.
The victim, 22 -year-old Joseph Lee Alexander,
of 5135 North Freeway #63, was shot multiple times and pronounced
dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson
and Officer B.C. McDaniel learned that an unknown male knocked
on Alexander's door and asked to buy crack cocaine. The suspect
was allowed into the apartment. Once inside the apartment, he
demanded money and/or drugs while pointing a gun. The suspect
became agitated and eventually shot Alexander. Witnesses inside
in the apartment at the time of the shooting fled unharmed.
