Traffic Incident at 200 Westheimer

December 15, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 200 block of Westheimer about 2:20 a.m. today (December 15).

The deceased victim's identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. A second victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition.

Wick reported:

The deceased victim was driving westbound in the 200 block of Westheimer at a high rate of speed, when he attempted to pass another vehicle. The driver lost control of his truck, swerved across the road and struck an occupied vehicle located on private property. The driver of the truck died at the scene while the occupant of the parked vehicle suffered unknown injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
