Incident at 5200 Lelia

December 12, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 5200 Lelia about 5 a.m. today (December 12).

The victim, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.R. McGalin and Officer M. Sosa reported:

HPD officers responded to a shooting call at 5200 Lelia and found the victim on the side of the road.

The motive is unknown at this time.
