Incident at 600 Canino
December 11, 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 600 Canino
about 11:20 p.m. on Sunday (December 10).
The victim, Wilmer Figueroa, 23, of 11626 Biscayne
Way, died of a gunshot wound.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant O. Belmarez and
Officer T.A. Andrade reported:
The victim and witnesses drove into a city park
parking lot at 600 Canino when the driver exited and went to the
trunk. A suspect approached the driver at the trunk and robbed
him at gunpoint as a second suspect ordered the other witness
out of the car. A third suspect, a female, entered and sat in
the driver's seat when the second suspect shot Figueroa and shoved
him out of the vehicle.
The suspects fled the scene in the witness' vehicle
which was later recovered.
The suspects are described only as two Hispanic
males and two Hispanic females. They were seen in a black or dark
colored 1994-1995 Ford Explorer with dark tinted windows.
