P. Casares and Officer O.D.
Lewis reported:
Officers were patrolling in the area of Antoine
and Acorn when they checked the license plate of a vehicle which
was reported stolen. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle,
but the suspects fled east on Acorn at a high rate of speed. Upon
reaching the intersection at Mangum and Acorn, the suspects attempted
to turn south but lost control of the vehicle. As the vehicle
entered a field at 4702 Mangum, the suspects attempted to jump
out of the moving vehicle. The back drivers side door struck a
large metal pole as Mckay attempted to exit the vehicle. He fell
to the ground as the other three suspects fled on foot. Two were
taken into custody and later released while the fourth, believed
to be the driver, managed to escape officers.
The investigation is continuing.
