Update on Incident at 2828 Collingsworth
December 5, 2006 -- Charges
have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting
of a man at 2828 Collingsworth on December 2, 2006.
The suspect, Edward Jevan Ervin (b/m, DOB 01-08-75),
is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. He is
accused in the killing of Terrance Laneil Moses, 29, of 3207 Brackenridge,
who died of multiple gunshot wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson
and Officer T.S. Tyler reported:
Moses was seen walking with Ervin in the courtyard
of the Columns of 59 apartment complex at 2828 Collingsworth when
they walked to an apartment on the second floor. Moses then walked
inside of the apartment while Ervin stayed outside. Moses was
heard saying he wanted his money, and not anything from within
the unit as he exited the apartment and walked towards the stairway,
followed by Ervin. When they reached the top of the stairs, Moses
told Ervin he would be back. Ervin then pulled a gun and fired
several times, striking Moses whom fell down the stairs. Ervin
fled the scene with two unknown black males.
Ervin was seen leaving in a burgundy 1998 Oldsmobile
Delta 88. There is no description on the two males that were with
the suspect.
