Traffic Incident at 7700 Southwest Freeway

August 27, 2006 -- The Houston Police Department, Mobility Incident Management Division, is investigating a traffic incident resulting in the death of two adult males
that occurred at 7700 Southwest Freeway at 2:30 a.m. on August 27, 2006.

Accident investigation Officer R. D. Davidson reports:

On August 27, 2006, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a passenger vehicle failed to maintain a single lane while traveling northbound on the Southwest Freeway entrance ramp from Beechnut. The vehicle struck a guardrail, killing both the driver and passenger. A witness to the accident reports the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident.

The identities and cause of death for each of the deceased will be determined by the Harris County Medical Examiner.

This accident will remain under investigation by the Mobility Incident Management Division.
