Traffic Incident at 3500 North Eldridge Parkway

August 25, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3500 North Eldridge Parkway about 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday (August 23).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant W.R. Cumbess and Officer R.A. Breiding reported:

The driver of a Toyota Tacoma traveling south on North Eldridge Parkway lost control of his vehicle and spun out of control into the northbound lanes, striking a Ford Crown Victoria. The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to an area hospital where mandatory toxicology tests were performed.

The investigation is continuing.
