Incident at 10100 Sugar Branch
April 24, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10100 Sugar Branch
about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday (April 22).
The victim has been identified as Reginald Scott,
36, of 13023 Newbrook Drive. He suffered a gunshot wound to the
back and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. W. Belk and
Officer M J. Miller reported:
The victim and a friend were talking through
a locked security gate at 10100 Sugar Branch when a tan, four-door
vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry, pulled alongside the curb. A
suspect, described only as a black male, got out of the rear passenger
side of the vehicle and approached the victim. After making demands,
the suspect then shot Scott in the back with a 12-gauge shotgun.
The friend, who was inside the locked gate, ran through the corridor
into the inner complex to safety after witnessing the suspect
make demands from the victim. The driver of the Toyota was described
only as a black male.
