HPD and HISD Release Composite Sketch of School
Bus Shooter
April 20, 2006 -- Investigators
with the Houston Police Department Homicide Division and Houston
Independent School District Police Department and asking for the
public's help in identifying and locating the person or persons
responsible for a shooting at an HISD school bus on Tuesday, April
18, 2006 about 4:51 p.m.
Two eleven-year old female students from Johnston
Middle School were slightly injured from shards of glass after
the bullet ripped through the bus window as it traveled along
the 9900 block of Ashville. The HISD bus driver contacted the
transportation dispatcher and drove the bus to Woodson Middle
School at Southview and South Acres. Both students were treated
for minor injuries and released to their parents at the scene.
The students told investigators that they heard a loud pop noise
and saw the hole in the window and the glass broken out.
The suspect
is described as a black male with a very dark complexion, average
build, very tall (6'3 or taller) and in his late teens or early
20's. A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news
release.
