Traffic Accident at 22200 Loop 494
April 19, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 22200 block
of Loop 494 about 12:05 a.m. today (Apr. 19).
The identity of the deceased male is pending
notification to family members. A second male was flown by Life
Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition.

D.S. Runyan and Officer M.E. Wick reported:
The two victims, both in their early 20s, were
traveling in a 1993 Nissan 300ZX north on Loop 494 at a very high
rate of speed. Witnesses said the vehicle left the road and struck
a fire hydrant and a parked car. The passenger and driver were
both ejected from the Nissan. The passenger was pronounced dead
at the scene and the driver was transported to the hospital.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
The investigation is continuing.
