Traffic Incident at 17900 Gulf Freeway
September 11, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating a fatal accident at 17900 Gulf Freeway
today (September 11), about 2 a.m.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant
D.S. Runyan and Officer S. Bolton reported:
A 4-door sedan was travelling southbound on the
Gulf Freeway when it pulled over to the emergency lane, on the
right side, to change drivers. Before the sedan could get on the
road again, it was struck from behind by a pick up truck. The
driver of the pick up truck was an intoxicated male. A male and
a female in the sedan were killed instantly. Two other female
passengers of the sedan were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital,
one in poor condition. The driver of the pick up truck was transported
with an apparent broken collarbone.
