Update on Incident at 6001 Bissonnet

October 14, 2005 -- Houston police are looking for a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 6001 Bissonnet about 1:20 a.m. on September 18, 2005.

The suspect, Manuel M. Garcia (H/m DOB: 5-31-88), has been charged with murder in the 228th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C.W. Howard and C. T. Mosqueda and Officers B. Evans and L. Benavidez reported:

The victim, Raymond Sabala, 17, of 8049 Longridge, was seen getting into a vehicle with two Hispanic males. A short time later, Sabala was brought back to the same location and dropped off. Sabala was shot in the back as he walked away from the vehicle. Sabala ran and then collapsed a short distance away. The suspects attempted to flee the scene but lost control of their vehicle, and crashed it into a concrete embankment. Four suspects got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
