Incident at 4811 Bellfort
November 29, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4811 Bellfort
on Saturday, November 26, 2005 about 10 p.m.
The victim is identified as Derrick D. Green,
31, of 3585 North MacGregor Way. He suffered a gunshot wound to
the torso.
The suspects are described only as three to four
black males who left the scene in a dark colored four-door sedan.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.E. Elliott and
Officer J. Sosa reported:
Mr. Green was hanging out at the gas station
located at Bellfort and Cullen. The dark colored sedan was seen
pulling up to the gas pumps. The persons in the sedan got out
of the vehicle and went into the gas station to make minor purchases.
As the occupants returned to the sedan, Green was seen approaching
them and having a conversation with them. The suspect got back
into the car with Green standing in the open front passenger's
door. The sedan was seen speeding away with Green hanging onto
the open door. The vehicle fled northbound on Cullen, and Green
staggered back to the front door of the gas station where he collapsed.
Green was then transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where
he later died from his wounds.
