Incident at 90 Northpoint Drive

November 27, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 90 Northpoint Drive today (November 27), about 3:20 a.m.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officer H.A. Chavez reported:

A man was sitting in his truck listening to music in the parking lot of the apartment complex where he lived. The armed suspect approached the man and attempted to rob him. A struggle ensued between the man (resident) and the armed suspect. During the struggle, the resident suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen and groin area. The armed suspect suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The resident was transported to an area hospital for his injuries.
