Incident at 6868 Hornwood

November 2, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 6868 Hornwood about 4:35 a.m. today (Nov. 2).

The identity of the unknown male is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants L. A. Flores and C. W. Howard reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at 6868 Hornwood and found the deceased male. Investigators have determined, through a witness statement, that the male was walking when the pistol he was carrying discharged. The gunshot struck the male in the chest and he died at the scene.

This case remains under investigation pending autopsy results from the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.
