Update on Incident at 301 West Little York
May 27, 2005 -- A suspect has
been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 301
West Little York about 11:30 p.m. on May 24.
The suspect, identified as Juan Domingo Velazquez
(H/m, DOB 7-7-78) is charged with murder in the 248th State District
Court. The victim, Rudolf Bernard Dorsey, 53, suffered multiple
gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants S.H. Kennedy
and L. Flores reported:
Mr. Dorsey was a uniformed, armed security guard
who worked at the apartment complex at 301 West Little York. It
is believed Dorsey was responding to a discharging firearms complaint
when he approached Velazquez, who then shot Dorsey several times
and then ran.
Hours later, Velazquez was taken into custody
at a separate apartment complex and questioned by homicide investigators.
