Traffic Incident at 7100 Roos

May 9, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7100 Roos about 7:03 a.m. on Sunday (May 8, 2005).

The deceased victim is identified as Denis J. Verdacia, 40, of 8315 Ariel. He was struck by the suspect's vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect's vehicle was being driven by Howard Martin Jones (b/m DOB: 07-10-86). Jones is charged with evading arrest causing death in the 338th State District Court.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant L.A Washington and Officer J.R Brashier reported :

Suspect Jones was driving a stolen vehicle taken in a previous aggravated robbery. He was approached by a police officer on Club Creek at the Southwest Freeway about 6:55 a.m. There, Jones fled from the officer until he (Jones) ran a stop sign and struck Mr. Verdacia's vehicle on the driver's side. Jones and two other occupants in his vehicle were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. Jones was later booked into the city jail.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8400 Bucroft Street

September 07, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male found at 8400 Bucroft Street about 8:25 a.m. on Sunday (September 5).  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective J. Roscoe reported:  

The victim was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address.  He had suffered a gunshot wound.  

At this time, there are no known witnesses or suspects.
