Photo Released of Serial Bank Robbery Suspect
May 3, 2005 -- Investigators
in the Houston Police Department Robbery Division (Violent Crime
Task Force/Bank Robbery Task Force) are requesting the public's
help in locating a wanted suspect in a series of bank robberies
in the Houston area. Since April 23, 2005 until April 30, 2005,
there have been 4 robberies believed to have been committed by
the suspect.
The suspect has been identified as Gerald
Allen Hayes (w/m DOB: 6-26-64). Hayes is 6' 01", 180
lbs., has brown hair and blue/green eyes. Hayes is also wanted
for bank robberies in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio.
Sergeant David Ryza of the HPD Bank Robbery Task
Force reported:
The suspect, Hayes, walks into a bank and approaches
a teller. Hayes then presents a demand note and displays a dark
colored handgun. He only robs the one teller and usually no one
else knows there was a robbery until Hayes has fled. After receiving
the money he walks out and gets into a stolen gold Lexus.
The 2005 Gold Lexus LS430, 4-door has Texas license
plate # 961BZH. These plates were still on the vehicle as of 4/29/05.
The vehicle was stolen out of Grand Prairie, Texas on 4/04/05.
Hayes is considered armed and dangerous. Following
are the locations that he has targeted in the Houston area:

4/30/05 2:14 PM Saturday 5130 Bellaire
