Traffic Incident at 12400 Westheimer

March 27, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal accident in the 12400 block of Westheimer about 4:40 p.m. Saturday, March 26.

The identity of the deceased passenger (H/m) is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Traffic Division Sergeant T. McCabe and Officer R. Davidson reported:

A 1994 Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed going eastbound on Westheimer. The driver of the vehicle lost control, swerved across three lanes of traffic and struck a large center point energy light pole. The impact of the accident split the pole in half. The passenger was transported to Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
