Incident at 1542 North Gessner
March 11, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of
another at 1542 North Gessner about 4 a.m. today (Mar. 11).
The deceased victim was identified as Victor
Manuel Lopez, 30, of 1542 N. Gessner #85. The second victim, his
brother Marcos Humberto Lopez, 23, suffered a gunshot wound to
the arm and is expected to survive his injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Sosa Jr. and
D. Vasquez reported:
The two victims were arriving home from work
and it appeared the suspect(s) was waiting for them. The suspect(s)
fired several shots at both men. Paramedics transported the victims
to Ben Taub General Hospital where Victor Lopez was pronounced
dead from several gunshot wounds.
It appears the suspect(s) then stole a vehicle
belonging to one of the victims and then drove it to 9595 Westview
where it was found burned. The suspect(s) might be driving a red
Ford Mustang.
