Traffic Incident at 1700 Eastex Freeway
June 28, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1700 Eastex Freeway
about 7:40 p.m. on Monday (June 27).
The deceased victim was identified as Alejandro
Landin Jr., four years old.

N. Nguyen and Officer R. Breiding reported:
A red Ford Explorer was traveling north on the
Eastex Freeway. For reasons unknown, the driver lost control and
struck the left guardrail. The vehicle spun around and two passengers
in the back seat were ejected. One of those passengers, Alejandro
Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. The other passenger, the
boy's mother Veronica Landin, 38, sustained injuries described
as serious, but not life-threatening. She was taken to Memorial
Hermann Hospital. The driver, Alejandro Landin Sr., 34, and a
front seat passenger, daughter Elizabeth Landin, 13, were also
transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with minor injuries.
