Update on Incident at 11715 South Glen
July 25, 2005 -- Charges of
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and injury to a child
have been filed against Amin Shehzad Hussein (w/m DOB: 8-31-60)
in the 339th State District Court regarding the shooting of a
2-year old that occurred at 11715 South Glen about 8:45 p.m. on
Saturday, July 23, 2005.
Details of the incident are as follows:
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.
She was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and
was later transferred to Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital
by Life Flight in critical condition.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L. Baimbridge
and Officer N. Ruland reported:
Several juveniles were playing football in the
courtyard of the apartment complex. During the game, a football
accidentally broke Hussein's window. He came outside and confronted
the group of juveniles. Hussein pulled a pistol from his pocket
and raised it towards two of the juveniles. The juveniles ran
away from Hussein and he fired one shot, striking a two-year-old
child who was being held by a third juvenile. The bullet struck
the infant in the neck.
