Incident at 644 Barringer Lane
July 25, 2005 -- A female suspect
is dead after a police chase that occurred on Monday, July 25,
2005 around 12:05 a.m. and ended at 644 Barringer Lane.
According to Houston Police Department Homicide
Sergeant M.W. McStravick and Officer I.F. Flores Jr., League City
Police were chasing a suspect in a Dodge pick-up that was wanted
in an aggravated robbery that occurred in League City. Houston
police officers assisted in the chase. The suspect vehicle stopped
in front of an apartment complex at 644 Barringer Lane and the
female suspect fled on foot. HPD and the League City officer gave
chase on foot and caught up with the suspect who pointed a pistol
at the officers. She was ordered to drop the weapon but refused.
HPD Officer K.W. Rogers and League City Sergeant P.R. Odin fired
their weapons striking the female suspect several times. She was
transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced
dead from her injuries.
Investigators with the Houston Police Department
Homicide Division, Internal Affairs Division and the Harris County
District Attorney's Office interviewed witnesses to the incident.
This case is still under investigation and at this time the suspect's
name is unknown.
