Incident at 5826 Conley
July 13, 2005 -- Houston police
homicide investigators have released a composite sketch of one
of two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 5826
Conley about 11:20 a.m. today (July 13).
The victim, Ronald Samuel Ray Steward, 48, of
3700 Burkett suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced
dead at the scene.
The suspects were described as two black males.
One was 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a stocky
build. The other was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed between
120 and 135 pounds. A composite sketch of the stocky suspect is
posted in the lobby of HPD Headquarters at 1200 Travis.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants B. Harris and
T.C. Bloyd reported:
The victim had his cell phone stolen from him
several days ago. Since then, he managed to track down the person
who had the phone and agreed to pay that person a $125 reward
for its return. The cell phone was returned to the victim this
morning, but he was unable to pay the reward. A scuffle broke
out and the victim was shot.
