Incident at 5200 Canterway
February 26, 2005 -- A suspect
has been arrested in the death of a man after a confrontation
in the 5200 block of Canterway about 8:35 p.m. on Friday (Feb.
25).
The juvenile suspect, 15, has been referred to
Harris County Juvenile Probation Department authorities on a charge
of murder. The victim is identified as Latrey Jamerson, 17, of
5319 Greylog. He suffered trauma to the head and was pronounced
dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.J. Grysen and
Officer F. Mares reported:
Houston Fire Department personnel were called
to the 5300 block of Greylog in regards to a male who was unconscious.
Paramedics transported the male (Jamerson) to the hospital.
Witnesses said Jamerson had been confronted by
the suspect in the 5200 block of Canterway and that the suspect
struck Jamerson without any provocation. Jamerson fell back and
hit his head on a concrete curb.
Investigators were able to determine the identity
of the suspect and he was later arrested without incident.
