Update on Incident at 8204 Brockton #3
February 18, 2005 -- Houston
police homicide investigators have released a photo of a man wanted
for questioning in the death of his two-year-old daughter found
at 8204 Brockton about 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 15).
The wanted male is Roman
Aguila Sanchez (H/m, DOB 2-23-77). He is 5 feet 7 inches tall,
weighs about 160 pounds and has a shaved haircut. The photo depicts
Sanchez with a fuller head of hair. He is believed to be with
his common-law wife, Marisel Perez Texis (H/f, DOB 9-9-82) and
another child, Gabriel Aguila, 3. Texis is 5 feet 1 inch tall,
weighs about 125 pounds and has medium-length red hair.
The couple is believed to be driving in a blue
or gray Dodge Neon with unknown California license plates. Sanchez
and Texis might have headed back to the Oceanside, California,
area where they were before arriving in Houston within the past
year. Investigators said they might also have fled to Mexico.
The two are wanted for questioning in the death
of Sanchez’s daughter, Jenifer Aguila Zarate, 2. The Harris
County Medical Examiner ruled Jenifer’s death a homicide
due to blunt force trauma to her chest. She also had suffered
a broken right arm, and had broken ribs that were considered to
be older injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and
Officer S. Straughter reported:
A Houston police officer was at the apartment
complex at 8204 Brockton on a separate call regarding the recovery
of a stolen vehicle when he was approached by the manager of the
complex. She told the officer she had received several unidentified
phone calls to check on apartment #3. The manager said she and
a maintenance man went into the apartment to check on the welfare
of the tenants and found a small child wrapped in a blanket on
the bedroom floor. The patrol officer went inside and found the
child dead. Witnesses said the parents of the child had not been
seen in the apartment since Saturday evening (Feb. 12), three
days earlier.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of
Sanchez, Texis and young Gabriel is urged to contact the HPD Homicide
Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
