Incident at 8100 Stone Street

February 7, 2005 -- A suspect has been charged in the strangulation of his wife at 8100 Stone Street #909 on Sunday, February 6, 2005, about 1:30 p.m.

Efrain Neftali Hernandez (H/m DOB: 3-26-79) was charged with murder in the 351st State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. T. Mosqueda and Officer X. E. Avila reported:

Hernandez called Houston police and stated he had killed his wife, Evelia De Carmen Ayala, 21, approximately eight hours prior to calling the police. Upon officers’ arrival to the couple’s apartment, they found Ayala dead in her bed. Hernandez was arrested without incident and transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for self-inflicted, non-life threatening injuries.
