Incident at 7506 Clarewood
December 24, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating the apparent suicide of an aggravated
assault suspect at 7506 Clarewood about 12:15 a.m. today (Dec.
24).
The suspect is identified as Julio Lemus, 29,
of 7506 Clarewood #102. He suffered a gunshot wound to the mouth.
The cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County
Medical Examiner's office.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick
and Officer B.D. Evans reported:
Julio Lemus and his wife were involved in a domestic
dispute when he assaulted her by striking her in the back of the
head with a rifle. After the altercation, Lemus walked away and
his wife sought the assistance from neighbors who call HPD officers
and HFD paramedics. Witnesses, who reported hearing a single gunshot
prior to officers' arrival, found Lemus' body on the ground in
the front parking lot of the apartment complex. A rifle was lying
next to the body. HFD paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
