Incident at 4300 Holloway
December 14, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4300 Holloway
about 9:40 p. m. on Tuesday (Dec. 13).
The victim is identified as Omar K. Beasley,
23, of 4701 Paradise Lane. He suffered a gunshot wound to the
head.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.J. Grysen and
Officer C. Park reported:
An unknown black male suspect shot Mr. Beasley
as he sat inside of his vehicle. According to witnesses, the suspect
and an unknown female were involved in an argument on the roadway.
As the female walked along the road with an infant in her arms,
the suspect, driving a beige mid-size vehicle, positioned his
vehicle across the roadway in order to block her progression.
The suspect got out of his vehicle and was trying to talk with
the female when Beasley approached the area in his vehicle. Beasley,
who did not appear to be involved in this domestic dispute, was
unable to proceed because of the blocked roadway. For an unknown
reason, the suspect produced a handgun and fired several shots
into Beasley's vehicle striking him in the head. After the shooting,
the suspect and the female with her infant got into the
suspect's vehicle and fled the scene. Beasley was transported
to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect is described as a black male driving
a beige four-door, mid-size vehicle with custom wheels.
