Update on Incident at 9450 Woodfair Drive #2009

December 1, 2005 -- Charges have been filed in the fatal shooting of a man at 9450 Woodfair Drive #2009 about 3:45 a.m. on November 29, 2005.

The suspect, David Earl Ross (b/m DOB: 10-06-81), has been charged with murder in the 338th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Officers P.T. Yochum and I.F. Flores reported:

The name of the victim is Lieutenant Huggins III, 26, of 9450 Woodfair Drive #2009. Huggins, Ross and the witness were roommates. Huggins and Ross had an argument that escalated when Ross produced a firearm and shot Huggins several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Ross left the scene and his whereabouts are still unknown. All three men are from New Orleans.
