Incident at 5401 Rampart #315

August 21, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5401 Rampart #315 on Saturday, August 20, 2005 about 9:40 p.m.

The identity of the victim's name is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office. He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.D. Newcomb and Officer N.T. Ruland reported:

The victim was found laying on the front porch of an apartment. Witnesses reported hearing one gunshot and came out to find the deceased victim.
