Traffic Incident at Sageburrow and Hughes

August 18, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at Sageburrow and Hughes about 7:20 a.m. today (Aug. 18).

The victim has been identified as Ruth Young, 9, of 10014 Sageaspen Lane.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. R. Hurd and Officer M. W. Gartman reported:

A Pasadena ISD school bus was stopped at the intersection of Sageburrow and Hughes. Ruth Young, riding a bicycle, attempted to cross Sageburrow in front of the bus. As the bus began to turn eastbound on Hughes, the girl was struck by the bus and killed.

No charges are expected to be filed against the bus driver.
