Incident at 230 McCarty #9
August 8, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 230 McCarty #9
about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 7).
The victim, Bobby Rogers, 23, address unknown,
suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead
at LBJ Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson
and Officer B.C. McDaniel reported:
The suspect walked up to a room at the Glendale
Motel at 230 McCarty and knocked on the door. When a witness in
the room asked who was at the door, the suspect said he was looking
for a person who was not in the room. The witness opened the door
and the victim, sitting behind the door, looked around the door
to see who it was. The suspect then began shooting at the door
and then fled.
The motive in the shooting is unknown at this
time.
The suspect is described as a black male, about
5 feet 2 inches tall with a skinny build. He was wearing a black
baseball cap, brown shirt and black shorts.
